When Lenovo launched the Legion 9i Gen 10, they weren't playing games — or rather, they were playing every game at maximum settings. This is the company's flagship gaming laptop, and it shows in every aspect of the design, performance, and price. At PKR 899,999, it's a serious investment. But for serious gamers, it might just be worth it.
DESIGN AND BUILD — PREMIUM IN EVERY WAY:
The Legion 9i Gen 10 has a distinctive design that sets it apart from the generic "black slab with RGB" aesthetic of most gaming laptops. The chassis is made from magnesium alloy, which keeps weight down while maintaining rigidity. The RGB lighting is tasteful — present but not overwhelming. At 2.5kg, it's not ultrabook-light, but it's manageable for a desktop replacement.
The keyboard is excellent — one of the best on any gaming laptop. Key travel is satisfying, actuation is precise, and the per-key RGB lighting allows for full customization via Lenovo's Legion Space software.
PERFORMANCE — ABSOLUTELY RELENTLESS:
The Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX paired with NVIDIA RTX 5090 is a combination that handles anything you throw at it. In our gaming benchmarks, Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K Ultra settings averaged 95 FPS. Call of Duty: Warzone hit 180+ FPS at 1440p. For content creators, DaVinci Resolve rendered a 10-minute 4K timeline in under 3 minutes.
The cooling system deserves special mention. Lenovo's Coldfront 5.0 technology uses a combination of vapor chamber cooling and dual fans to keep temperatures in check. Under sustained load, the CPU peaked at 89°C — warm but within safe limits — and performance never throttled.
DISPLAY — STUNNING OLED PANEL:
The 16-inch 2560x1600 OLED display with 240Hz refresh rate is the best gaming display we've seen on a laptop. Colors are vibrant, blacks are true black, and the high refresh rate makes fast-paced games feel incredibly smooth. HDR content looks spectacular.
BATTERY AND THERMALS IN KARACHI'S CLIMATE:
Battery life is, predictably, short — about 3 hours of gaming or 5-6 hours of light use. This is a plugged-in machine. In Karachi's heat, we noticed the fans spin up more aggressively, but the system maintained stable performance throughout.
VERDICT:
The Lenovo Legion 9i Gen 10 is the best gaming laptop available in Pakistan right now. If you need maximum performance and have the budget, nothing else comes close.
